Royston registered their first win of the season but the score line doesn’t tell the whole story. The game started with Royston pressing the game and could have gone ahead in the first minute when Tom McG fed the ball through to Jamie O only to see BSFC Keeper make a brilliant save. Royston continued to dominate and Cameron S went close with a shot from outside the box that went narrowly wide. BSFC Colts were reduced to a couple of breakaway chances but it was on such a chance that they went ahead when a speculative header that was misjudged by the visiting keeper. Royston rallied really well at the start of the second half and were awarded a free kick 25 yards out. Man of the match Jordan H sent in a wicked ball which was glanced on into the back of the net by Cameron. Three minutes later Royston went ahead when Jordan H scored directly from another free kick, this one into the top corner giving the hosts’ keeper no chance. With Josh T, Troy M, Conor E, Owen R and later Tom G in defence BSFC had little chance to reply. In fact it was Royston that went further ahead when Bradley C received the ball, after good work from Jamie O, to tap home from 5 yards. Royston could have wrapped it up early when Cameron S just missed a cross from the ever impressive Jamie O, however it was BSFC who scored again when a long looping shot bounced out of the keepers hands into the net. A few nervous minutes ensued however Royston came away with a much deserved win.
