Royston Town Youth Colts were involved in a very entertaining goalless draw. Even though St. Neots lay fifth in the table and the Colts are a lowly ninth you couldn’t tell by the first half performance. Royston contained the Blues very well allowing them only one shot of note that went harmlessly over the bar, while Royston too had a shot that just went over the bar by Troy, a great run and shot by Jamie and they hit the post after a superb corner by Bradley. The pace and power of Jamie caused the visitors defence problems all game which their only answer was to foul him. This gave Man of the match Josh the opportunity to send in a succession of well taken free kicks that for the want of a bit of luck could have resulted in a goal. As the game went on Royston began to tire but the back four of Owen, Tom G, George and Conor held strong with the latter throwing himself across the line to prevent a certain goal. Even though Royston were out on their feet physically they just wouldn’t give up and could have nicked it at the death when another quality free kick from Josh failed to find a touch by Cameron.
