This was the first time we had played Elsenham in a fixture and we found ourselves in leafy Essex on a perfect day for football, the pitch nor the surface was great and it was heavy underneath but we play on these types of pitches more often than not.

We asked the boys to match them physically and for effort because although they were bottom of the league there results lately had picked up. We wanted a repeat of last week’s energy and enthusiasm and we wanted them to talk a lot more. We had fourteen this week to chose from Callum was back from injury but James R and Sam were still sidelined.

1-0    After just two minutes Richard found Rhys with a perfect pass and Rhys did the rest a great start.

2-0    Ten minutes gone and when the ball was played into Ben he controlled it before playing in Rhys he lobbed the keeper for ours and his second.

3-0    Twenty minutes on the watch and once again Ben was the provider this time setting up Bradley who finished confidently.

We were completely dominant playing good football and winning our individual battles, and after twenty five minutes I was able to freshen things up and bring on all three subs.

4-0    One of the subs Jack O then produced a fantastic cross which Bradley connected with the keeper made a save but there was another of the subs Ross to tap in.

5-0    Bradley was every where this time his pass found Rhys who once again looked up before playing an inch perfect pass for Ross to grab his second.

Alasdair was bringing the ball out of defence well all half and this was a feature in a really good first half which was brought to an end with us 5-0 up.

It was hard to fault that first half so many positives and some excellent performances, but we still wanted more chat and our delivery in wide areas had to be better although Jack O delivery was exceptional for that fourth goal. We wanted to keep playing on the floor and to make sure we looked for more goals but just as important keep them out.

6-0    Richard started this move he played the ball to Ross who then played in Ben he found James B who found Ross who had continued his run and he finished to complete his hat trick this really was a great team goal.

7-0 James B involved again this time he played in Ross out wide he beat his marker before delivering a cross hard and low into the box which a defender turned into his own net.

8-0 Ben out on the left found Jack O and once again he put in a super cross which was meet by Rhys for a looping header which also completed his hat trick.

9-0 The scoring was wrapped up in the last minute when once again James B started a move by playing in Ross he again beat his marker before squaring the ball to Rhys who left the keeper with no chance for his fourth goal in the match and our ninth.

Some people say you learn nothing in these matches but I disagree you always learn something about your team and I could take so many positives from today and so should the boys we dominated from start to finish and had the same hunger in the last minute as we did the first, we never let them settle and the defence did not allow them a single shot on goal even at four, five and six goals in front first Eamon then Jack and finally Callum got in good blocks. Well done to all the boys today you ALL played your part in this the eleven who started and the three who came on we have such a good squad with such depth everyone needs to be  on there toes playing for places and with the two injured boys to also come back things are looking good for us.
