The under 16s extended their unbeaten league run to seven games with a well deserved win at Knights Templer School on Sunday. Despite not being at their best in the first half the Young Crows found themselves two goals up at the break. The biggest early feature were Ryan Omahony's long throws causing persistent panic in the home area and Royston had already gone close on a couple of occasions with Mitch Wooding heading one just wide and another being twice scrambled from the goal line.

The opening goal was scored by birthday boy Owen Bentley converting from 12 yards after Jake Booth's effort had rebounded from the crossbar. Just before half time Omahony's long throw was half cleared to Booth, his goal bound shot was cruelly deflected high into the net off a defender.

Baldock's main threat came from their own set plays and they had a couple of very clear chances through some poor defensive play on Royston's part but they couldn't take the opportunities.

Royston played with more aggression and skill in the second half and largely controlled the game shooting up the slope. Goals always looked likely and a crisp 12 yard strike from Jake Booth and two very well taken goals from Jacob Leighton completed the scoring and gave Royston their impressive win.
