This was a very dominant display from the under 16's on an evening when their vibrant approach play was not always matched by the final creativity or finishing. Scoring goals has not been a problem for this youth team in recent weeks but all four goals in this game came from set plays. Enough chances were created throughout the 80 minutes to make the scoreline bigger but some impressive goalkeeping but often off target shooting was witnessed.

 

Royston always looked likely to score from set plays and two headers from corners from Mitchell Wooding settled the team. Louis Townsend also hit the crossbar from another header.

 

A third goal before half time from Owen Bentley flicking in Ryan Omahony's long throw was a fair reflection on the first half dominance. The trend continued in the second half but only one more goal scored. Another long throw bundled in by Louis Townsend from close range.

 

Royston were strong defensively and go into Sunday's cup semi final in good form and with good confidence
