Ickwell & Old Walden v Royston Town Youth Colts

Royston Crow Youth Football League U16 Division 1

Won 1-8

Royston Scorers

Jordan (2), Jacob (2), Mitchell, Jake, Louis, Ellis

This was another ruthless attacking performance from the under 16s against hard working opposition that were better than the final scoreline suggests. Their quick counter attacking made it a trying night for Royston's defence and on another night the home side could have easily picked up another 3 or 4 goals from very good chances created.
Likewise on top of the eight goals Royston scored they continued to create chances and especially second half played some very fast, attractive football that was good to watch.
Jacob gave the visitors a third minute lead finishing off a stunning team move and Mitchell headed in a corner soon after. Jordan added a third with a cisp angled left footed half volley across the keeper before Ickwell replied with a good lob over Conor and into the net. Jacob scored his second just before half time beating the keeper at his near post.
More domination from the vistors in the second half as they stepped up their display to a higher level' Jordan scored the fifth from close range before Jake added a sixth with a well struck 12 yard shot. Louis headed in a seventh from Ryan corner before Ellis completed the scoring drilling in a fine 25 yard effort that the keeper culdn't keep out.
The side require one more win from their double header to finish a definate runners up whilst two wins plus Fairlands dropping points could still see them take top spot
