Royston Scorers

Jordan 4, Jake 2

This was an exceptionally good performance from the Young Crows as their determination, general football and classy finishing saw them progress into the Quarter Final stage.

On a very hard bobbly pitch Royston played with great skill with a nice variety of short and longer ball game and but for some mis fortune in front of goal and some agile goalkeeping the scoreline could easily have gone to double figures.

Leading the way was Jordan Hall with four impressive strikes and he was ably assisted by strike partner Jake Booth who notched the other two.

Despite losing centre half Dan Sizer to a knee injury very early on Royston created chances throughout but it took 26 minutes for the opener when Hall reacted quickest to his own saved shot to scored from a tight angle. The keeper made great saves from Matt Brennan, Jake Booth and Owen Bentley before Dunton equalised against the run of play when their striker raced clear to finish coolly.

Within a minute Royston were back in front, Hall controlling a long throw from Ryan Omahoney and swivelling a finishing in one quick movement.

Further goals always looked on in the second half with Ollie Wheeler crashing a 30 yard half volley against the crossbar early on. Their fine play was rewarded and two really fine finishes from Jake Booth and another two from Jordan Hall all justifying fine team approach play gave the Young Crows a more than deserving final score line
