This turned out to be another decent win for the under 16s against last year's league champions. The game was not overly decided until the last ten minutes of the game as the home side's lack of quality in the finishing department easily kept their opponents in the game.

Royston started slowly and Conor Long had a fine block to make in the first minute to deny a Potton forward an opening goal. The home side began to take control of the game and took the lead mid way through the half when Jacob Leighton's shot was saved with Jordan Hall smashing home the rebound from eight yards.

A period of missed chances emerged for the home side as they frequently opened up the Potton defence but they were rewarded with a second goal right on half time. Ryan Onahony's long throw was not cleared and Jacob Leighton scored from close range.

Royston continued to pass the ball well in the second half and a couple of stunning saves from the Potton keeper and some equally poor finishing in some instances failed to kill off the game and Potton reduced the arrears after Royston failed to clear a corner.

The game opened out as a decent spectacle with the hosts still looking the more threatening and parity was restored with ten minutes remaining when Dan Sizer made a powerfull run forward in midfield and unleashed a fierce 25 yard shot into the corner.
The goal gave Royston some breathing space and soon after Jordan Hall beat the offside trap to slot under the advancing keeper to complete the scoring and another good win for The Young Crows
