Royston Town Youth v Baldock Town Templars

Royston Crow Youth Football League U16 Division 1

Won 6-1

Royston Scorers

Jacob, Mitchell, Louis, Owen, Jordan, Ollie

A seventh consecutive league victory and six different scorers in this game as Royston continued their vast improvement. The game started evenly but Royston passed the ball well and took the lead mid way through the half when Jacob Leighton ran onto Ollie Wheeler's through ball and lobbed into the net over the keeper. Baldock equalised soon after with a one on one well taken goal but Royston then took control of the game. Mitchell Wooding restored the lead thumping the ball in from close range when Baldock didnt clear a long throw and just before half time Louis Townsend headed in Owen Bentley's cross.
The dominance continued early in the second half and two more quick goals followed early on. Owen Bently scored a fourth after running into the area from a short corner and shooting home from a tight angle and Jordan Hall cashed in an unstoppable twelve yard angled drive inside the keeper's near post after an excellent team move.
The game then became fairly scrappy with the heavy pitch takings its toll on player's legs and the movement of the ball. The visitors also lost their discipline and were reduced to nine players before the end of the game with two sending's off for dissent out of frustration. That was compounded further with a last minute goal for Ollie Wheeler with a cool finish from ten yards after a defensive error
