This was a gritty encounter between two teams which seem to alternately beat each other by just the odd goal in a series of hard fought matches.

 

In the first half the play ebbed and flowed but neither side carved out a clear cut chance with which to trouble the goalkeepers though the visitors exerted a bit more pressure based on corners won. The second half looked to be following a similar pattern with a goalless draw looking the likeliest outcome until the 59th minute when Letchworth took the lead.  Celtic fought back but it took an excellent piece of wing play by man-of-the-match Danny who then fired a devilish cross into the goalmouth from where a defender could only turn the ball into his own net. Just 3 minutes later in the 75th minute Letchworth took the lead again when a Celtic defender headed the ball in a loop over the keeper into the net.

 

To their credit Celtic fought back again and a ricochet from a visiting defender gave Danny the chance to equalise in the 80th minute though the visitors still had time to win a corner before the final whistle.
