Youth Match Report: U18 v Hormead Hares

Royston Town Youth v Hormead Hares

Royston Crow Youth Football League U18

Won 1-0

Royston Scorers

A good win having had no game activity for four weeks in what was a tight game. The bobbly Meridian pitch didn't help fluent football with the Hormead team having the better of the first half and the clearer chances. The two visiting forwards were rapid and difficut to handle. One shot off a post and three fine stops from Owen kept them at bay and right on half time Jordan riffled home an unstoppable 14 yard effort to give Royston perhaps an undeserved lead at the break.
The game was far more competiticve in the second half with Royston the better team but still having to defend superbly to keep Hormead at bay. Micael, Matt, Jake and Jordan were all unlucky not to add to Royston's tally with the visiting keeper brought into action to make fine stops but Royston's efforts were good enough to keep them second in the table with a game in hand
