Town’s second string suffered a 1-0 defeat in the quarter final of the Herts Intermediate Cup on Saturday with a lacklustre display.

In a game where both sides seemed more frightened of losing neither keeper had any saves of any merit to make in the entire 90 minutes of normal time.

Royston made a change of both personnel and formation for the extra time periods and this woke the game up as the home side started to put the Kings Langley defence under some pressure, with TYRELL STRATTON forcing a fine save from the visiting ‘keeper.

Crows' day went from bad to worse when a Kings Langley forward toppled under an innocuous challenge in the box and the referee pointed to the penalty spot.

DAMIAN WILLIAMSON showed his quality in making the save but couldn’t stop the rebound from entering the net via the underside of the crossbar.

Royston huffed and puffed but all to no avail.

STRATTON was felled by a similar challenge to the one that resulted in the earlier penalty but no such decision went the home club's way and Royston left the competition.

Crows Manager Kev Wilson said ”This was our second defeat of the season, albeit in the same week. It doesn’t make us a bad side overnight. We will bounce back from this”.
