Great Statement of Intent

Hi All!

Had a few weeks of me reporting in on indifferent performances from us. Not so tonight because not only did we perform well but hit “Our biggest rivals” with a fantastic 4-1 scoreline in our favour.

The game itself was spoiled somewhat by the conditions and a ferocious wind had to be dealt with by both teams. We were mainly against the wind first half but it was so unpredictable that it was hard to play either way.

Their goal that put them in front was largely down to the conditions,a hopeful cross found itself in our net. It wasn’t exactly against the run of play because our start wasn’t the best.

Fair play to our lads after though, they suddenly got used to the elements and got back into the game! The outstanding Ryan Ingrey, who we moved into several positions throughout the half, was unlucky not to put us back level when hitting the bar.

1-0 down going into the second half. Not the worst score considering we should have the wind generally going in our favour.

Second half we were superb! Jack Bradshaw, another that had to move roles during the game, expertly volleyed our equaliser.

From there on in we really started! Rhys Hoenes who in my opinion has been a little below his usual high standards made his mark on the game with an excellent finish putting us 2-1 up!

Rhys was not finished there, with the inclusion of Reece Dobson who replaced Joe De La Salle. A little re-jig of personnel. We found ourselves with bundles of pace up top. Rhys H went on another “Mazy” run, ending with yet another great finish putting us up 3-1 up!

In between this Reece D had a couple ” Gilt edge” chances that normally he would finish. Reece a little “Rusty” will only get better with games, having had to wait so long for his international clearance to come through.

Rhys H wasn’t finished though and arguably his best finish of the lot put us 4-1 up!!

A great result. Not only for us but the whole league!

A great statement of intent from us but now to build on it! We have all the top teams to play in the coming weeks so positive results against them are crucial!

Hopefully this will give us the confidence to push on!

Up the Crows!!
