A Valuable Three Points

Seems ages since we had a home game to report on and what a match. Against our near rivals Hitchin Town, a team I for one have a lot of respect for in the way they go about their business.

We started very brightly and for once got our reward for our positive play. 1-0, followed quite quickly by a second, so things looking good early on.

We had another opportunity to stretch that lead but didn’t and as with football, a little against the run of play Hitchin got one back. No real drama as long as we could keep the belief. End of the half and us 2-1 up and our favoured end to attack in the second half. so happy days!!

I suppose most Crows fans were hoping for more of the same but fair play to Hitchin they showed real character and made things difficult for us. Yes we had several half chances to increase our lead but then they can say they had a couple to equalise.

The score line stayed the same and for us a valuable 3 points which gets us back and running.

We have a busy schedule coming up over the next few weeks, playing Saturday (at home to Tiverton) then Monday (at Stortford), then Saturday again (home to Gosport). Not ideal but good to go into on the back of a positive result. Vital we keep everyone as fit as possible.

Look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Saturday.

Cheers,
SC
