Castle Delighted With Daventry Display

Hi!!

Reporting in after a very satisfying weekend result!! I don't think I'm exaggerating if I said that if we had scored double the amount we did it wouldn't have been an injustice!! We were superb!! Everyone! From the goalkeeper to the defenders to the midfield and not to forget the hard-working forwards that were very unlucky not to get on the score sheet.

Now to build on this result! We can't let ourselves down on Tuesday. We must get maximum points, especially at home. We are taking every game as it comes but the signs are good. I thought Dave Theobald was excellent and I am so pleased for him! He has had a terrible year and although he has been fit and available, a year out has taken it's toll and it has been a slow process for him to get up to match speed. Hopefully 'Theo' can keep injury free and build on this. Another lad to be picked out for special praise is Craig Hammond. Craig has had to be very patient in waiting for his season to start due to a reserve suspension that has lasted an eternity!!

Craig has not missed a single session both pre-season and beyond. Worked his socks off, mostly on his own. I'm sure he will make a cracking impact this year and fair play to him.

As for our 'Mini League', before the St Ives game I gave the lads a target of 11 points from their next five league games. With a win and a draw another win on Tuesday gets us well underway!

Unfortunately the first mini league we didn't reach the target of 11 points and got to 9. So we are 2 points behind overall. It's a big ask but if we can manage 3 straight wins we are back on target of 95 points plus at the end of the season!!

Cheers
