Hello,

An update of the last few days which have as ever been a bit up and down but with more highs than lows, so can't complain.

After our tremendous win away at Daventry (made all the better by Daventry's win over Rugby midweek) we went into the home game against a lowly Beaconsfield team. In my opinion just waiting to be beaten convincingly!!

I was right in as much about the opposition. They were an extremely young team who tried to play the right way. Fair play to them it will be valuable experience for them and I wish them luck but it doesn't hide the fact that we, if we have any title aspirations at all, have got to finish these types of teams off, and clinically.

Now some might say that a 3-1 score line is convincing enough but with how we set our own high standards from Saturday to make hard work of the game was frustrating.

All said and done three points are three points. Obviously Kettering seem to be flying and will be fierce rivals for the league this season. My take on it is as long as they aren't more than six points away they can be caught!! I'm sure the season will bring loads more twists and turns before it ends. We will take every game as it comes and take it from there.

So after a frustrating Tuesday night to a very pleasurable Wednesday night watching the youth team progress through in the FA Youth Cup! They were brilliant especially in the first half. The finishing from the lads was exceptional. Well done to all concerned and here's to many more victories!!

The first team now have a free week due to being knocked out of the FA Cup so it's time to focus on the reserves, who are playing Corinthian-Casuals at Garden Walk. I know a lot of managers who would want to take the ressie game over for the first team but I'm not one of them. I feel we have a very capable manager in Ada Cambridge who will have some first team players who haven't been featuring that much this season to pick from.
Good luck Ada,

Cheers for now.
