Steve Castle on Aylesbury Utd Win

Hi Everyone.

Getting in a blog between matches.

For my part it was very satisfying to get back on the winning trail so quickly. In my opinion we were a little unfortunate to come away with nothing at Aylesbury. Our finishing was poor but to come away with no points was gutting!!

So to Saturday's game. The start was very positive. I decided to bring Rob Nightingale in on the right side, throwing Kaan Fehmi up top. We were missing Ryan Lockett and Lewis Endacott and Ryan Wharton came back from injury to replace Lewis.

The ball was being moved very swiftly and several chances were created. Gary Hart had a speculative effort saved and Jack Bradshaw missed a sitter. Jack quickly made up for it by sending an inch-perfect ball to Chris Watters who excellently put the ball away with his trusted left foot!

We probably should have gone into the break further ahead, I felt we went a little defensive for a period of time although our start in the second half was superb and we quickly stretched our lead when a Stuart Bridges cross was met by Kaan Fehmi with his head at the far post. Stuart Bridges himself slotted the third home soon after.

I was then enforced to make some changes. Chris Watters was struggling with a hamstring, Gary Hart had received a big blow to the head and Stuart Bridges had a slight groin problem.

On came Spyros Mentis, Ross Collins and the returning Reece Dobson. I must say sometimes when making so many changes in such a quick amount of time the flow gets lost but the three lads that appeared performed so well they enhanced our play!!

A couple of more chances went amiss but a good all round display was what the Doctor ordered!!

Well done lads. On to Monday!!
