Another Cup Disappointment

A cup match to report on and unfortunately a similar outcome with us being knocked out of the cup, a cup we could have progressed some way in as well!

To say I wasn’t happy is an understatement after the match. A game that the approach was good, the first half reasonably acceptable but yet again a second half at home where for whatever reason we were “Poor” to say the least! and over the 90 minutes didn’t deserve to win the tie.

All off the back of a fantastic result, away to a highly rated team in Tamworth.

A question may be asked on the selection with me including lads that hadn’t had many minutes recently but bar the exceptional Adam Crowther are all regular 1st teamers. So us as staff were expecting a high level performance from a talented bunch.

As said the first half was pretty up beat with us creating several chances and going into the break 1-0 up due to a penalty taken and won by Rohdell Gordon.

Half time, the usual, “Well done lads ,keep it going” Nothing negative, just a reminder to keep their standards high and be as professional as possible to keep the result positive in our favour.

Now I don’t know what it is and believe me when I say we as staff have tried to identify the “Problem” but we were not the same team as played in the first half, our passing was poor our decision making was awful and to put it bluntly we were terrible as a team.

Their equaliser was a little unfortunate but mistakes happen and their winner was a great strike but the fact in my opinion that it was so “easy” for them to score is alarming!!

Not all bad news, Adam Crowther I thought did very well and David Mooney got some valuable minutes to put under the belt so positives in that sense, Onwards and upwards and back to the League on Saturday.

Here’s to a full 90 minute performance.
