Just What The Doctor Ordered

At last a upbeat blog to write!

The lads put in a determined if not polished performance on yesterday. For me “Just what the Doctor ordered” to show everyone especially our home contingent not only a desire to win football matches but a willingness to run for each other for the three points.

An unusual line-up with a few missing and a couple left out and one obvious change of position, Muzzer up top!!

Not sure if it’s a popular choice but it’s effective!

JP and Rohdell both on their day as good as any player I’ve been involved with but for different reasons not quite “Hitting the heights” at the moment.

Unfortunately I have had to let a couple of lads go. Martel Powell and Jhai Dhillon. Martel has been with us for a few years now, being part of the promotion team and having a run in the team recently. My view is however well he has done I didn’t see him as a regular First Team starter week in week out. In fairness to him he outlined his desire for regular football and was not willing to sit on the bench.

Jhai has been a little unfortunate and due to us exiting the FA cup certain cuts have been made and with us retaining Romelle and Jordan I felt the need for a third left-back wasn’t necessary.

Also missing Chris Assombalonga who has been troubled by various injuries since he came to us. Hopefully a week or two to get him fitter will do the trick and we can all see the real Chris Assombalonga!!

So Gus came into midfield and Charley O’Keefe coming in for his debut to release Muz to play centre forward. As I said good solid if not as flowing as previous home games but results are all important and that we got!

Cheers,
SC
