SEVEN UP FOR CROWS IN FA TROPHY

ROYSTON TOWN FC v HAYWARDS HEATH TOWN FC

Saturday 9th November 2019

Royston ruthlessly disposed of lower-level Haywards Heath at a wet Garden Walk to progress to the next round of the FA Trophy.

Royston dominated from the off and it was Josh Castiglione who fired in the opener with a well-controlled volley. The lead was soon doubled as a pinpoint Luke Warner-Eley pass was cut back by Castiglione for Adam Murray to fire home.

Haywards Heath tried to find a way back into the game and Joe Welch was forced into a fine low save to deny Trevor McCreadie before Scott Bridges turned home another Castiglione pull back, to give the Crows a three goal half time lead.

Royston continued to press in the second half and Matt Bateman was on hand to finish an Ed Asafu-Adjaye cross on the hour mark. The Crows continued to look dangerous and Claudio Ofosu scored the 5th with a measured curling effort.

The gloss was put on the scoreline in the closing minutes as Brandon Adams turned in a Castiglione cross on 89 minutes and Bateman rounded off the scoring with a close-range tap in, to send the Crows safely through to the next round.
